How does the Lead Data Stream work?
The Lead Data Stream uses a process of matching an anonymous unique identifier with additional data about a person to determine their identity. We collect a unique identifier from website visitors and use an Identity Graph to fill in missing information such as their personal details, workplace, job title, and contact information. Our data is backed by one of the largest data-cops in the United States with over 300+ million unique people-based records.
How do I install the Lead Data Stream pixel?
The Lead Data Stream pixel can be set up on your website similarly to other tags. Refer to this documentation guide for detailed instructions tailored to your website’s CMS.
What is an Identity Graph?
An identity graph is a vast relational database that stores information from various sources pertaining to a specific group of individuals. In our case, the source data is one of the largest data co-ops in the US, consisting of details about US adults, including their contact information, demographic attributes, firmographic attributes, and unique identifiers. These unique identifiers can take the form of encrypted email addresses, device IDs, MAIDs (Mobile Advertising IDs), IP address, HEMs, etc. The identity graph establishes connections between all this information, enabling us to query and determine the identities of your website visitors.
Can Lead Data Stream data append to existing first party data?
Lead Resolution data can be appended and enrich existing first party data sources (Shopify, Klaviyo, Hubspot, Salesforce, etc.) to further enrich customer profiles with additional attributes.
Can the Lead Data Stream count delivered be capped at a certain amount?
At this time, it cannot. This feature is currently in Beta for a few clients and expected to be fully rolled out in Q4 2023.
Is the Lead Data Stream able to be set up or placed to only resolve traffic on certain pages?
Yes, the Lead Data Stream can be set up or placed to only fire on certain pages or landing pages.
What can the Lead Data Stream data be used for?
Lead Data Stream data delivered back to clients can be utilized for any internal or external use case including but not limited to email campaigns, digital advertising campaigns, direct mail campaigns, profile enrichment, and internal analytics.
How can marketing and advertising agencies view Lead Data Stream data for multiple clients?
Agencies that utilize the Lead Data Stream for multiple clients will be able to login to Distilled and partition the resolution data on a pixel by pixel basis. Each individual Lead Data Stream’s data is stored in separate warehouses on the backend. Additionally, Agencies can white-label Distilled and have their clients log in to their own branded account.
Is the Lead Data Stream compliant with current laws and regulations?
Yes, it is legal to use Lead Data Stream data as it falls under First Party Data. First Party Data refers to individuals who have directly interacted with your company, such as by visiting your website. The Lead Data Stream helps you utilize this data effectively. However, it is important to comply with privacy protection laws and handle your first party data responsibly. This includes having a cookie consent banner and clear statement in your website’s privacy policy informing visitors that you collect personal data for marketing purposes. Additionally, you should provide an opt-out mechanism for visitors who wish to remove themselves from your marketing databases if they choose to do so.
What geographic regions does the Identity Graph for the Lead Data Stream pull from?
Currently the Lead Data Stream only resolves traffic in the United States.
Is Lead Data Stream GDPR compliant?
Yes, the Lead Data Stream is GDPR compliant as we do NOT collect or store any data from individuals in the EU. Therefore, the tool only works for those in the United States.
Can I email my website visitors, even if they didn’t ask to be contacted?
Yes, you can email your website visitors; however, it is important to adhere to the regulations set forth by the CAN-SPAM Act, which safeguards individuals from receiving unwanted (spam) emails. Similar to CCPA, CAN-SPAM requires you to provide an option for recipients to opt out of further communications. It is crucial to include an unsubscribe link in your marketing emails and maintain a list of unsubscribed individuals. Many mass email platforms automatically include this option in the footer and maintain a suppression list of those who have unsubscribed.
Is the data resolved through the pixel passed back to any third parties?
None of the pixel data collected and stored in Distilled will be shared with data co-op providers or other third parties. When you connect additional data sources to Distilled, that data also remains securely in your Distilled account and will not be shared with outside parties.
